Doug Barrenger
Doug has more than 20 years experience in the petroleum industry and has undertaken all facets of geological work, from wellsite and operations to prospect evaluation, risk analysis and basin analysis, JV representation and project management for both operated permit and new- venture role, in development and exploration. He is a founding partner of MBA Petroleum Consultants. He has worked on all Australian petroleum basins and in SE Asia and Italy. Doug is an active member of AAPG and has been a treasurer of PESA.

Wal Muir
Wal is an experienced and highly motivated petroleum professional with 25 years in the industry. He specialises in the accurate evaluation of the value and risks associated with exploration acreage. He has specific skills in seismic interpretation, risk analysis, play and prospect evaluation and team leadership. Until founding MBA, he was Exploration and New Ventures Manager for Petroz NL. He has worked on all Australian petroleum basins and in SE Asia, the North Sea, Italy, Falklands and East Africa. Wal has been a federal president of PESA,and is a Distinguished member of PESA. He is also member of ASEG and QUPEX.

The principals, Wal Muir (geophysicist) and Doug Barrenger (geologist) formed MBA Petroleum Consultants (MBA), based in Brisbane, Australia, in early 2001. They have over 50 years technical and managerial experience between them, with a strong emphasis on new venture portfolio evaluation for both exploration and development opportunities, as well as acquisition, dilution and divestment of assets. They have successfully completed many deals in Australia, New Zealand, South East Asia, the Mediterranean and the North Sea.
